San Benito County, CA, April 22, 2025 (Release Date) – A coalition of local, state, and national groups is hosting a pollinator habitat planting community action volunteer event on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3, 2025 (registration for the event is required). Volunteers will meet at 9:00 a.m. at the San Benito County Historical Park (8300 Hwy 25, Tres Pinos, CA 95023). “The San Benito Resource Conservation District is excited to be part of the team that is bringing this fun and educational volunteer opportunity for all ages to our community. The two pollinator planting days will create multiple lasting benefits – improving habitat for our native bees and butterflies, and beautifying one of our County’s “hidden gems” – the San Benito County Historical Park.” said Karminder Brown, Executive Director of the RCD. “We are grateful to California’s Wildlife Conservation Board, the California Association of Conservation Districts, and Keep America Beautiful for funding this important project.”
This community action event is hosted by a team that includes San Benito County, Keep California Beautiful, Keep America Beautiful®, San Benito Resource Conservation District, Point Blue Conservation Science, San Benito County Historical Society, REACH San Benito Parks Foundation, and Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation., in partnership with California Climate Action Corps, a program of California Volunteers, Office of the Governor. Through collective action and partnership, volunteers will improve the area's appearance with native plants.
