San benito county historical village

Historical Village is located within the 

San Benito County Historical and Recreational Park 

8300 Airline Highway (Highway 25) 

Tres Pinos, CA 

“One mile south of Tres Pinos” 

  •  The Historical Village is a diverse collection of historic buildings and artifacts on the grounds of the San Benito County Historical and Recreational Park. Visitors park in the Recreational Park, pay the County parking fee at one of three pay stations and follow signs to enter the Village on foot. Brochures and Village maps are available at the Jack O’Donnell Visitor Center and the Dunneville Dance Hall.


  • The Village is administered and maintained by the San Benito County Historical Society, a donor supported non-profit organization. There is no fee to stroll through the Village, however donations are most welcomed and are used for displays and upkeep of the Village.

  •  The Village is a wonderful quiet place to stroll while learning about the culture, geography and natural history of San Benito County. Favorite pastimes include dog walking (on a leash please), bird watching (bring your binoculars!)  and getting away from it all!

Historical Village hours

  • The Village grounds are open to the public every day, during daylight hours.
  • The Historical Village’s Jack O’Donnell Visitor Center is open most Saturdays from 11am to 3 pm. Here are Walking tour 
  • The San Juan Pacific Model Train Exhibit, adjacent to the Visitor Center, is open every Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm.  

Historical Village Tours

  •  Special group tours of the Historical Village can be arranged in advance. Contact info@sbchistoricalsociety.org to discuss your group’s desired date and specific needs.  

Park Reservations for Recreational Areas

  • Note the recreational and group BBQ areas are not part of the Historical Village. They are administered by the County of San Benito, not the San Benito County Historical Society. For more information about the recreational and group BBQ areas of the park, to obtain a group permit, or to reserve a section of the park, call San Benito County Public Works at 831-636-4170. Model Train Exhibit

  •  The San Juan Pacific Model Railroad Club, formerly located at Bolado Park, now resides in the Village’s Ferrando House. Tracks weave in and out of three rooms and visitors can see the process of building scenery and laying tracks. Model Railroad volunteers are happy to share their exhibit and love of trains with the public on Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm.
